Walk for Jennifer - "Nobody fights Alone"
A walk for Mrs. Pritchett took place on Wednesday, April 30, at 3pm. K-12 plus staff and community members participated. We will be walked around the golf course "square" north of the elementary building. This was a Walk being sponsored by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Nebraska to encourage physical activity in the workplace and schools and they are donating $$ to Nebraska Game & Parks and Nebraska Special Olympics. AS A SCHOOL we are also made it WEAR PINK/WEAR TEAM JENNIFER SHIRT day and will walking in her honor. She was gone to her chemo treatment this day (this was the half-way point for this round of treatment) and we wanted to show her support as we all wear pink or Team Jennifer shirts for this day and walk. This walk was held in conjunction with "Walk to Lunch" sponsored by Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Nebraska. 102 schools participated in the Walk. On top of that, 360-plus businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, etc. and 137 individuals signed up. As a result, $10,000 was raised. $5000 each will be donated to Special Olympics Nebraska and the Nebraska Game and Parks Foundation.
